Happy June! Here's a wonderful, diffuser blend for you to try this month~

GET TO KNOW SPF 50 MINERAL SUNSCREEN

When the scientists at Young Living formulated our Mineral Sunscreen, they wanted to develop the very best—for kids, adults, for everyone in the family. To create the right sunscreen, they knew blocking UV rays was the right path, so a zinc oxide sunscreen—a barrier approach—was the right formulation. But Young Living’s scientists, bound by the Seed to Seal® commitment to create the absolute best products available, developed a sunscreen that uses non-nano zinc oxide, which means when you wear this sun-screen, you won’t absorb the chemicals into your bloodstream, however benign they may be.
Young Living's SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen is formulated with  pure Helichrysum, Lavender, Myrrh, Carrot Seed, and Frankincense. This over-the-counter sunscreen is lightweight, fast-absorbing, and provides your skin with added protection from UVA and UVB rays.

It’s finally time for all those fun-in-the-sun activities! Whether you adventure near or far, you’ll be set for summer success with June’s PV promo.

Picnic in style—and comfort—thanks to our exclusive, easy-to-clean picnic blanket and the nuisance-fighting power of Citronella essential oil. After a day spent hiking, biking, or beanbag tossing, massage tired muscles with a combination of Cool Azul® and V-6TM Vegetable Oil Complex.

When you’re home sweet home, diffuse Peace & Calming® as you sit around the table and share your favorite moments from the day’s adventures.

YOUNG LIVING HONORED WITH CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AWARD

Last month Young Living was named the winner of a Silver Stevie Awardfor the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year category by the American Business Awards. Young Living was recognized for
  •  Reducing waste to 1% at one of Young Living's largest warehouses in just eight months
  • Implementing a new water recycling program at one of the Utah-based farms, saving close to 260 million gallons of water per year
  • Implementing the Green Team, a department focused not only on leading the company's green initiatives but also on supporting efforts in the community
  • Donating a conservation easement covering almost 19 square miles to The Nature Conservancy's Utah chapter, aiding the crucial ecological role in supporting native wildlife
WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT A CLOSED LOOP?

While you might not think a closed loop is as exciting as a loop-de-loop, the Distillation team at our Young Living Lavender Farm and Distillery is pretty jazzed about it! In 2019 the team took a deep dive into the current distillation process with the goal to preserve as much water as possible. The answer? Recycling and reusing water with a closed-loop cooling water system. How does it work? Water from the distillery is directed to the farm’s holding ponds and pumped into irrigation lines, providing water for the fields. In addition, the pond was put on a recirculation system. The redesign uses existing infrastructure and saves 260 million gallons of water per year. That’s 260 followed by another six zeroes! Total water win!

Swap out single-use cleaners with reusable containers! It’s World Environment Day on June 5! The United Nations started World Environment Day back in the ‘70s to raise awareness on environmental issues. Last year the U.N. focused on beating plastic pollution, which is a nine-billion-ton problem.

How can we beat back plastic waste? One way is to create your own cleaners in reusable containers! When you buy a 64 oz. container of Thieves® Household Cleaner, for example, don’t toss it once it’s empty. Use it to store pre-mixed cleaners for quick spray bottle refills.

It’s also gardening season! Make it a goal to replace one of your single-use weed killer or pest spray containers with a reusable container and an essential oil blend!

Are you running out of ideas on how to keep your kiddos occupied? Try this essential-oil infused homemade slime! It’s aromatic, it’s science-y, it’s a very good time for all ages. Most kids agree, adding essential oils to slime is the most fun way to introduce your little ones to aromatherapy.

Ingredients
4 ounces non-toxic white glue
½ teaspoon baking soda
1–2 tablespoons multipurpose sterile solution
(contact solution)
KidScents® GeneYus™ essential oil blend
Natural food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add glue to a bowl.
  2. Add food coloring if you’re working with colors.
  3. Mix in baking soda until smooth.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon contact solution and mix slowly. The glue mixture will start to become stringy as it hardens to form a ball.
  5. Pick up the mixture and knead with your hands until it becomes smooth. If it remains too slimy and won’t come together, add ½ tablespoon of contact solution at a time until it is smooth.
  6. Add up to 8 drops of essential oil and mix until combined. If the aroma is too potent, use less
    oil.
  7. Get playing! Set out placemats or parchment paper to keep things from getting too messy.
To keep everything slimy and fresh, store your slime in an airtight container for up to three months. After a few days, the scent of the oil may fade. Get your homemade slime smelling sweet again by adding three drops of oil and mixing well.

Summer is here! As you prep for the new season make sure to include caring for your skin. Glowing skin is supple, healthy, and hydrated. In the winter, dry skin tends to build up, which can result in a dull appearance. Skin is the ultimate barrier between yourself and the environment, and can be compromised by dry air and heat during the winter months, so it is important to prepare your skin to face the sun's rays as you enjoy your summer.
EXFOLIATEWhat it does: Exfoliation removes dead skin debris to prevent congestion and improve hydration. Exfoliate in the morningprior to toner, moisturizer, and make-up application. Make-up will last longer on exfoliated skin!Young Living's Satin Facial Scrub - Mint gently exfoliates the face to lift and remove dry, dead skin cells and reveal bright, even-looking skin
HYDRATE YOUR SKIN FROM THE INSIDE OUTHigher temperatures and more time outdoors leads to internal dehydration, which not only can result in headaches and dizzy spells, it can also result in dry, chapped skin.
Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of filtered water every day to help maintain critical moisture balance of the body and skin, and assist in detoxification. Tip: If you drink caffeinated beverages, you must triple the amount of water you drink!
SOOTHE OVER-EXPOSED SKINWhen you forget the sunscreen, don't apply enough, or get caught in a sunny spell, damage to your skin doesn't have to leave you suffering in pain. Young Living’s LavaDerm™ After-Sun Spray offers temporary relief from the pain and itching of minor burns, minor cuts, sunburns, scrapes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations, so your family can keep playing all day.

SHORTER SHOWER, MORE MOISTURIZER
In the chilly months, your shower routine tends to get a little longer and a little hotter, but those are big factors that contribute to dry, not-so-pretty skin.

Many dermatologists recommend taking shorter showers - less than five minutes - with lukewarm water to help minimize dry skin. Long hot showers are one of the worst things for dry skin!

After you shower, pat your skin dry (don’t rub it dry) and moisturize immediately to lock in the moisture while your skin is still damp.

Infused with Lavender essential oil and other plant-based ingredients, Lavender Hand & Body Lotion moisturizes and protects skin from overexposure for long-lasting hydration.

WEAR SUNSCREEN
You can be sitting in the sweltering summer sun or getting refracted rays off snowy slopes—no matter how you’re playing in the sunshine, one thing is vital: protecting your skin. Having a natural sunscreen you can count on means more fun outdoors without worrying about sunburn or the intrusion of toxic chemicals into your bloodstream. Young Living's mineral sunscreen not only protects your skin, but it's natural formula also helps protect the earth. It also has the Skin Cancer Foundation's seal of approval for daily use.
Did you know that a steam facial soothes and hydrates skin, opens pores to gently remove dirt and impurities, and increases circulation? It also allows the skin to better absorb your favorite skincare products. Learn how to do a steam facial at home on Young Living's blog here.
